Thankgiving Thoughts

Thanksgiving is a great holiday. Like most holidays it brings us time off from work and school and more time with our family and friends.

This will be quick and two fold.

First, as a fitness coach, I am always thinking about how to improve our lives and the lives about the people we love most.

Try these things out if you want to have great holiday habits!

  • Encourage your family and friends to go out for a walk after dinner and before desert. This helps you digest the food you just consumed, and helps you not feel terrible.
  • Encourage your older friends and family to practice some squats down to their chair and back up. It is a good way to get the blood moving, help digest food, and make sure they are healthy for many thankgivings to come!
  • DO NOT WORRY about eating too much or what you are eating. It is okay to have a few days a year where you INDULGE. Just make sure to get back on track Friday…. Or Monday:)
  • Try some probiotics or kombucha. Its tasty and for sure help digestion

Alright, secondly, I would like to get a bit mushy. This weekend we did our “Thanksgiving” with my family. I don’t see them much because we live at opposite ends of the east coast (NH, NC, and FL). It was incredible. Talking to my brother is one of my favorite things on this planet. We don’t look at our phones and can just talk by the fire and catch up for hours. And now that he has a little daughter it made the weekend even more special getting to know her better and actually play with her in person as opposed to Facetime.

Please use this holiday to be THANKFUL for everything we have. We live in an amazing country, we are all incredibly fortunate to have families that love us, and we are fortunate to be above ground.

Take a moment away from your phones, news, TV, football, and all the other BS in our lives. Appreciate the amazing people you have in around you, and the amazing people who have passed on.

Take a breath. Be Thankful.

Yours in strength,

Nate
